Super-charged Cancer New Moon

New Moons are typically a withdrawn period for most. The Moon is at its weakest and darkest, so historically, this time of less light was a time of quiet, early bedtimes, and rest. The sign where the New Moon occurs can tell us a lot about how we will be impacted, but it’s also important to consider what the other planets are doing in relation to the New Moon, which is a conjunction between the Sun and Moon.

On Tuesday, June 28, we will have a New Moon in Cancer. For a comprehensive list of all of the New Moons and Full Moons, click the highlighted links. Cancer season, the time of the year when the Sun is in Cancer, is all about our sense of comfort and home. More on that here!

Naturally, this New Moon, on a basic level, will encourage us to set goals and intentions around issues relating to family, home, traditions, security, heritage, and ancestry.

Depending on where the New Moon falls in your chart, this will also affect the themes that arise for you personally around this time. If you aren’t sure, this guide might be of help.

Tuesday’s New Moon is going to conjoin Lillith! I love to talk about Lillith in chart readings because it reminds us of where we need to lean into our taboos and shadows a little more. It also shows us where we might be hiding and how we can step up to the plate with independence and power. If you want to kick off a deeper relationship with your sexuality or your inner feminine, this is the perfect New Moon to begin.

Venus in Gemini and Jupiter in Aries are in a harmonious sextile angle to one another. It will certainly be a powerful New Moon to indulge and make wishes that will come true at the Cancer Full Moon in the winter, six months from now, or two weeks later at the Capricorn Full Moon––rare but it might happen if you’re lucky.

Venus is the planet of attraction and Jupiter, abundance and expansion. If you want to call something into your life, staying radically true to what you want and going after that burning passion in your belly will yield some of the most intense manifestation results all year long!

Here are a few things I encourage around this New Moon:

  • Connecting with female ancestors and those in your lineage (biological and spiritual) who lived through oppression to form deeper connections with the other side

  • Swimming, soaking or working with water

  • Cooking as a ritual for yourself, your sensuality, and your relationship with ancestors (eat for Cancer Season)

  • Lymphatic massage that focuses on the glands around the chest and/or breasts

  • Feminine circles to support one another and cleanse from dense energy

Here is one of my favorite ways to connect with ancestors and guides!

Before you get into the shower or bath, light a candle and ask your guides to come through while you’re under the water and leave you with any messages or insights.

You might not experience anything profound, but try to let your mind go and feel the suds and the water washing away anything not meant to be there.

You might be surprised that by the end, you have some clarity around a current situation that you didn’t before. Sometimes it might come through as a new idea or a person may come to mind that you should reach out to. The key is to be open and focus on interpreting the deeper meaning of what might have come to mind.
