I Ranked My 2024 Travel Based on Astrocartography
If you’re new to astrocartography, it is the study of how your birth chart manifests through geography.
If you’ve ever heard of an energy vortex, like the pyramids of Giza or Stonehenge, each of us has other personal vortices based on our birth charts.
While I might love a city, you might hate it, and it means less about the city than you think.
I went to TEN different cities in 2024 and visited EIGHT different astrocartography lines.
I collected vastly different experiences with stories to tell about each one and their impact. My experiences of a place don’t reflect the place on its own. We each experience a place through our own birth chart energy.
Here’s what I enjoyed the most, ranked hardest to most fun:
Saturn IC - Central NC
This one was hard. My first visit in June was to say goodbye to my grandfather, who is like my father. After a long battle with dementia, we helped him transition peacefully at home. Even when you’re spiritually minded and have been through death before, it never gets easier.
The second was to spread his ashes, which was during Hurricane Helene. I planned to grieve with my family at my grandfather's memorial. After he passed in June, I spoke with my medium, and she confirmed that he wanted to go to the mountains to rest, his favorite place to be with our family. Never in a million years did I think we would have a devastating hurricane in Western North Carolina, but we did. I never expected to grieve my grieving process, but this is just the kind of thing you do on a Saturn IC line during an eclipse: unexpected hard sh*t. These were the hardest seasons of 2024.
Mars DC - Los Angeles
I moved to LA in 2022, and my business took off. I hustled, grinded, the motivation that flooded my veins kept me going and I received the rewards. I reached a peak. Not the peak, but a big peak. The bad of Mars started to outweigh the good this year, and I needed a break from the hot, fast-paced chaos of Mars. I’m thankful this reached a fever pitch, leading to my nomadic lifestyle. I experienced more stress-related health issues on this line than anywhere else. I noticed it melt away once I left. While I plan to stay California-based long-term, my relationship with LA remains complex, just like Mars.
North Node Trine Midheaven - Portland, OR
These lines will show you what you need when you need it and then send you on your merry way. I lived here for 4-5 years before moving to Los Angeles, and it helped me align with my sense of purpose by introducing me to professional astrologers and entrepreneurs, ultimately leading to my graduating from an in-person astrology school. I love going back because I have such a feeling of gratitude for what it gave me, even though it’s not my home. It will always have a special place in my heart.
This time, it proved to me that I could be anywhere and run a successful business. It grounded and recalibrated me. It was the perfect place to begin my nomad journey. Thank you, Portland.
Mercury DC line - Sedona, AZ
Mercury is the gateway to the underworld. I’ve always had mystical experiences here. I know Sedona is a special place for many, but I feel the intensity of my Mercury line so much. I feel like a portal of communication opens up between me and the divine, and I am able to channel profound insights and ideas in new ways.
So, while I was also in the intensity of the Sedona Vortex, I was in a liminal space between worlds. I went here on retreat with some amazing women, and I met a spirit guide of a Lilith archetype named Annabelle. She likes bluegrass, whiskey, and yelling at men. Oh, and she’s a river siren. If you told me this last year, I would say you’re nuts.
Moon Neptune paran line - Scottsdale, AZ
One word: surreal. This town is surreal, and my reason for being there is surreal. It has to do with film. What a bizarre Neptunian adventure of illusions, glamour, and extravagance. More on this later.
Sun Zenith - Playa del Carmen
This is the place I started my business five years ago. What a gift it is to come back to your Sun line and examine your progress, to really see who you are now. Because I have a challenging Pluto aspect to my Sun, I also feel that little bit of darkness looming over my shoulder in a Solar place.
Over the years, I’ve integrated it, and Pluto, and I can work well together. I can dance in the extremes of the Sun and Pluto here. It’s helped me get in better shape mentally and physically.
Moon Jupiter Paran - Las Vegas
I never thought I would be a Vegas person, but I was pleasantly surprised. What a fun place to have two Jupiter lines (also Jupiter sextile Asc). I ate too much and spent too much, but I won a lot in the casino and had the best time with my friends. My favorite casino this time was the Wynn and I visited their sushi restaurant, Mizumi, twice. I recommend the Lychee martini and the off-menu cut maki rolls.
I could maybe live here outside of the strip. World-class food. Chef’s kiss.
Jupiter sextile Ascendant - Palm Springs
Top of the list. No notes. I’ve never had a bad time on this line. I visited three times and lived here for a month this year. This year, I had one of the best months ever. I ran a successful first retreat up the road in Joshua Tree. Bridget won a royal flush on her birthday, which was a New Moon manifestation come true (I have receipts).
I grounded in the grass every morning and my routines were better than ever.
