Week of May 16, 2022
Here is what to expect for the week ahead and an AuraArt print to illustrate the energies above and within us. Enjoy!
Wow! Pat yourself on the back because you survived one of the hardest weeks in years! We don’t get triple whammies like this often, so you’re a champ, even if it zapped the life out of you in some ways. This week will be comparable to panning for gold. We will have to get our hands dirty and examine closely, but we might find a few helpful nuggets along the way. There will be more objectivity and logic available this week, helping you stay balanced when emotional moments strike.
When we have a week like we did last week, there really is nothing better than a Sagittarius Moon to follow. Sagittarius energy is upbeat, positive, and forgiving, which is exactly what we might need after surviving a week of Mercury stationing retrograde, a Moon Wobble, and the most intense flavor of eclipses in Scorpio. Sagittarius energy is also deep, open-minded, and philosophical, which can help you process any wild events that might have conspired this week.
Monday offers a friendly Sagittarius Moon that mingles with Jupiter in Aries, helping us aggressively put the pieces of the puzzle together. Welcome any streaks of inspiration that come from learnings or conversations. Keep an open mind and you might just have a eureka moment. The effects of Mercury retrograde might be stronger as the Moon challenges Mercury in the afternoon, but the evening should clear up. Give yourself some time for pure fun!
We will feel the conjunction between Mars and Neptune in Pisces all day because it will be emphasized by the Sagittarius Moon that makes a conflicting square with everything in Pisces. When I see Sagittarius and Pisces energy together, I think about blindly moving forward. This is big “it’s fine! Go ahead!” energy, even when it’s totally not fine. Hopefully, Mars in the mix will help you stand your ground and take up for yourself and the underdog. The Moon will go void after midnight EST, which means 9:00pm PST––plan accordingly to do nothing!
Wednesday’s Capricorn Moon has us chugging uphill. While you might be tempted to launch a project or initiate something new, you should hold off on brand new beginnings. If there’s something in your drafts that needs attention, this is a great time, but birthing from the beginning should be reconsidered if it hasn’t been in the works for a while. The Capricorn Moon is in a square with Jupiter in Aries on Wednesday, which is likely to make you feel like you’re not doing enough. Trust me, you are! It’s just the ram and the goat trying to push you a little harder than what might be comfortable.
There is ancient wisdom available in the early morning of Thursday as the Sun in Taurus connects with Pluto in Capricorn. It’ll be a good time for an early morning therapy session or self-dissecting your dreams. The Capricorn Moon will help keep it objective without too much in the way of waterworks. While you might feel super productive under the Capricorn Moon, I always do, be careful not to step on any toes on your jaunt to the top. The Moon’s square to Venus in Aries might be a little ruthless. If you’re met with rudeness, smile and say what a southern grandma might say “bless your heart,” which also means “it’s amazing that you can be that dumb and that much of an asshole at the same time.” People won’t hold back as retrograde Mercury meets Jupiter in Aries! If you’ve got something to say, why not bare it all?! You’ll be able to wrap even the most insulting words in a cute package that will leave you feeling satisfied.
Friday brings a gust of wind––the Sun moves into Gemini and the Moon moves into Aquarius, both of which are air signs. It’s a good day to hear someone out and try to see their point of view. Keep in mind, that the Sun will be on the last degree of Taurus until 9:23 EDT, so the stubbornness will be at its peak until then. It won’t be the best time for flexibility, but the late evening will! You might have a sudden desire to get out and socialize with others later into Friday. Find like-minded people who can understand your experiences fully.
The midpoint of the Mercury retrograde cycle will occur on Saturday and midpoints usually bring more of the traditional retrograde symptoms, but it also helps uncover the main lesson you’re supposed to gather from this period. Take things slowly Saturday, as it’s not the best weekend for busy errand-running. You’re likely to run into some hiccups, so keep things simple, go with the flow as best you can, and try not to have too tight of an agenda.
Sleeping in is a good idea on Sunday. Skip church and brunch because the Moon will be shaky and void until 11:49am EDT. You might have less energy under the Pisces Moon in the afternoon, so it’s a good day for lazy reading, cooking if it’s fun for you, or napping. You might be in a more sensitive mood as Mars and Pluto come together but this sextile spells courage! You’ll have everything you need to make heart-led decisions to stay in your power. If you need to fully let go of something that came to light during the eclipse last week, this is your day for a potent send-off. Mercury retrogrades back into Taurus in the evening, which might lighten the effects of Mercury retrograde, especially for mutable folks! However, fixed sign people might feel this more––as if fixed sign people haven’t gone through it enough!
Monday brings some power and excitement as the kids of the zodiac, Gemini and Aries meet up by way of the Sun and Jupiter in a favorable sextile. Find something to be happy about and do it unapologetically. It’s ok if you’re feeling a little sassy today, Mercury gets a boost from Mars, and with it, the permission to politely say “this is what I want. I don’t care if you like it or not.”
Enjoy the week to come and use it to build yourself back up after a doozy of an eclipse.
