Week of May 9, 2022

Here is what to expect for the week ahead and an AuraArt print to illustrate the energies above and within us. Enjoy!

AuraArt for the week of May 9, 2022! You can get one of these for yourself or someone you love HERE! (they make great gifts, and graduation and wedding season is just around the corner!)

This week is like a high speed blender whipping up a dark green smoothie without a lid. It ushers in a shift that is quite different from anything we’ve experienced over the last two months. The energy is suddenly much pointier. While we’ve been floating in an abundance of Pisces energy all spring, the time has come to pack our bags, clean house, and get our lives together. Notice I didn’t say jump right into the path forward––there are some things that need reevaluating and tying up before we can move forward. Honor the natural process of what needs to come before the rest can follow.

All week long, we are coming up on a Moon Wobble. This phenomenon isn’t talked about often, but Jan Spiller, a great teacher of mine from the other side, often wrote about how these quarterly occurrences can cause an emotional stir in our lives. Since the Moon mimics the patterns in our own emotional lives, the Moon Wobble is what it sounds like––emotional instability. I did a Live on Instagram last week that dives into more details, but in short, Moon Wobbles happen when the Sun conjoins, squares, or opposes the nodes. You can read more about this astrological event here!

Monday will feel more like a Monday than usual. The Leo Moon loses its foundation early, starting at 8:39am EDT, and won’t gain footing again until 6:53pm. Melancholy vibes will be all around and you and others might feel a bit touchier for most of the day. It’s best to avoid getting into any potentially triggering conversations because the drama factor can escalate quickly.

Usually Virgo Moons are my favorite time of the month for getting things done, it’s lightning speed over here. But things will be different on account of Mercury retrograde beginning Tuesday. To kink up the mix even more, Jupiter rolls over to Aries for a debut that hasn’t happened since 2011. We’ll be kicking off a brand new 12-year Jupiter cycle this week that is sure to make it a hot girl summer for everyone, but especially people with Aries placements. Aries energy is known for getting the ball rolling and we can expect the mash-up of the cardinal fire sign and the most expansive, jovial planet to make us excited and fired up–– hopefully with passion rather than anger, but both are possible this week with all of the other tumultuous energy buzzing around our ears.

The Moon will be stable in Virgo all day long, but stable is a stretch, if I’m being completely honest. As a sign ruled by Mercury, Virgo energy will emphasize the chaotic nature of Mercury stationing retrograde. I always advise my clients to toss out the fearful rhetoric of Mercury retrograde because it happens three times a year and it’s not nearly as big of a deal as astro-instagram makes it out to be. However, this one might be a little more intense than others since it starts under a Mercury ruled Moon (Virgo) and Mercury is at home in Gemini through May 28.

Wednesday might feel more like a true, earthy Virgo Moon with a little bit of help from the Taurus Sun and Pluto in Capricorn offering some stability. The earlier part of the day is much more conducive to hard work, but make sure to take the evening off for more creative breaks and self-care as the Moon challenges Neptune in Pisces, reminding us of all the emotional sweat still dripping down our backs from April.

Thursday offers a Libra Moon that can offer a bit of bliss to a tense week, but don’t get greedy. There is still plenty of potential for intensity in relationships (I’m looking at you Moon opposite Aries Jupiter and Venus). Try to keep things light but don’t be passive aggressive. Directness with grace will serve you better than beating around the bush because it might set off the wrong person. Keep this in mind today––when someone shows you who they are, believe them.

The Sun will square the nodes officially on Friday…FRIDAY THE 13TH! But that should be the least of your worries. Friday the 13ths have been historically plagued because of the association with the number 13 and witches. We love witches! We are witches! And we love the number 13! So when things get tense on Friday, blame the Moon Wobble and the pending Lunar Eclipse, not the poor Friday the 13th. The Libra Moon will gather support from Saturn which will hopefully add some groundedness and logic to a nonsensical week. This is a good chance to process anything that has your emotions riled up through an objective lens.

We’ll start to feel the rumble early Friday morning and it won’t be smooth sailing as the Scorpio Moon challenges Jupiter and Mercury in a messy inconjunction. Basically, keep ya mouth shut. Eclipses have an ominous history but their purpose is to cleanse our lives of anything that isn’t meant to be there. This ~2 year series of eclipses is happening in Taurus and Scorpio, which tends to have the energy of holding onto things and also leaning into decadent surrender. This might make it more challenging at times to let go of what’s not meant to be, but our resistance will make the process much more difficult than it needs to be. If things fall away from you right now, just know that a portal to something else is opening up, even if you can’t see it now.

As if this Eclipse, Mercury retrograde, and a Moon Wobble hasn’t done us dirty enough at this point, the Sun in Taurus challenges Saturn in Aquarius in a tense square Sunday as the Eclipse builds through the night. Venus also meets Chiron in Aries and I am expecting this to further the war on women a la Roe v. Wade even more. You might want to just stay in and chill Saturday. People will be showing their less filtered selves and some might even be wearing their hate and anger on their sleeves. If you’re protesting, please be careful. Be aware of your surroundings. This weekend is a recipe for psychotic behavior. But it’s a fab Saturday night to face-mask and DIY pedicure with some low key TV to take the edge off.

This is the kind of week where you’ll want to push any important meetings, launch dates, rickety conversations, and anything else that gives your tummy the butterflies, a raincheck! There’s always more time, even when we live in a society that’s constantly trying to rush us to get to the next thing. Sit with where you’re at right now and let things fall into place the way they’re meant to.

If you’re seeking some personalized guidance to work through this period, I have a few May slots open! Get yours while they’re here.
